God Remembers You

God Remembers You

Resilience is not the absence of disappointment. It is the decision to keep moving forward even when your heart is carrying wounds. Over the past several months, I have been walking through a season that has tested me deeply. There have been moments of disappointment, unanswered questions, and circumstances I would never have chosen for myself. Like many people, I have wrestled with the temptation to wonder whether I had been forgotten. But, God has a beautiful way of reminding us that we are never alone.

Book Signing

Recently, my husband and I participated in a book-signing event. To many, it may have looked like a simple gathering of authors and readers. But for me, it became something more. At one point during the event, I was sharing the heart behind one of my books with someone at the table, unaware that another woman nearby was listening to the conversation. A little later, she walked over and started leafing through the devotional book, From Broken to Brave. Without much canvassing, she purchased the book. She then lingered at the table, sharing highlights of her prayer ministry. As we continued talking, she mentioned what piqued her interest and motivated her to purchase the book. She told me that after hearing me speak about the book with such passion to someone at the table while she was browsing books at a nearby shelf, she felt compelled to read it because she believed it must have been written with that same passion. Her words lingered with me.

An Encounter

In that moment, I sensed God gently reminding me that what He places within us does not go unnoticed. In a season marked by disappointment and uncertainty, that brief encounter felt like a quiet affirmation from Heaven. It was a gentle reminder that our gifts still matter, our voices still carry purpose, and God is still at work even when we cannot fully see or understand what He is doing.

Sometimes life has a way of shaking our confidence. Disappointments can cause us to question our effectiveness, our purpose, and even our calling. Yet God, in His kindness, often sends reminders. Not always through grand displays, but through ordinary moments that carry extraordinary impact. And … I often find these reminders in unexpected places. Sometimes they come through a conversation with a friend. Sometimes through an opportunity that appears at just the right time. Sometimes through a kind word from a stranger. Encouragement (at least for me) sometimes comes while planting flowers, pulling weeds, or watering a garden.

Miracles in the Garden

One of the reasons I love gardening is that it slows me down enough to notice God’s presence. As I tend the soil and watch new growth emerge, I am reminded that growth is often happening beneath the surface long before it becomes visible.

Something To Ponder

Looking back, I can see that God has been sending small reminders almost every day. Through conversations. Through opportunities. Through my garden. Through a book-signing event. Through simple moments that whisper the same truth: You are not alone. You are not forgotten. Remember, the same God who carried you yesterday is carrying you today. If you are walking through a difficult season, perhaps you need that reminder too. Pay attention to the small evidences of God’s faithfulness. They are often all around us. God is still writing your story. Keep going!
